We look back at 2014 with Dirty Revolution’s wonderful vocalist Reb, discussing their last year ever as a band.
How was 2014 for you?
2014 has been emotional; obviously the band ending and working towards a last release has been a bit of a rollercoaster, but I feel like we are going out on a high and we acheived so much and made so many wonderful friends.
What was the best show you went to?
My favourite show that I attended was Tuneyards. I am in love with them and that’s the kind of direction I’d like to go in with future music. Check them out if you haven’t.
My favourite releases this year were Tuneyards Nicki Nack, FKA Twigs’ EP1, Ezra Furman’s Day of the Dog and Kate Tempest’s Everybody Down.
I also would like to recommend some new bands – from Cardiff we have Jr Bill and The Scallies, who are ace. There’s Take Warning from Basingstoke who sound interesting too – female singer and melodica. And always Will Tun and the Wasters.
In 2015 I’m looking forward to jamming new music, spending time with my lil man and going to loads of festivals in the summer just as a civilian.
Keep in touch Reb – from Lancaster Loves You xx
