A short Seeing Your Scene guide to Halloween

It’s that time of year again to listen to the Misfits and carve weird punk related things into your pumpkins. What else can you do to make it more exciting?

Well, for starters, make sure you listen to Good Mourning by Alkaline Trio. Between Matt Skiba’s scratchy vocals, and the eerie lyrics – specifically “This Could be Love”, “Continental” and “Donner Party”… Maybe just about seeping into every other song though. Good Mourning is a classic. It’s also an amazing album showcasing Trio at their best.


Les Revenants, or The Returned, is a French drama, where a small, very creepy, town deals with the return of various characters who died many years ago. It’s quite honestly the best thing we’ve seen in years. So, why not binge season 1 on Netflix? Another great selling point is the fact that Mogwai did the soundtrack… And it’s so, so good. It’s creepy, and quiet, and honestly, one of the best parts of the show.

“Pet Sematary” by the Ramones is a Halloween classic and here’s Muncie Girls’ take on it!


Pop-punk heroes Teenage Bottlerocket put out this video for their track “Dead Saturday” yesterday. “Haunted House” and “Punk House of Horror” would probably work too, though.
