Looking back at 2014 with… Ill Gotten Gains

We caught up with Basingstoke’s finest ska-punk band Ill Gotten Gains about their 2014.

How was 2014 for you?

It was amazing. We played loads of great gigs across the country, made loads of new friends and had lots of fun doing it. Never a dull moment.

What was the best/most memorable show you played?

It’s a toss up between Dirty Weekend Festival and Timebomb Fest. Both times we (or at least some of us) were massively hungover from the night before but we still managed to play a pretty decent set.

What was the best show you went to?

Definitely Dirty Weekend! Loads of great bands, awesome people and a great atmosphere to the whole festival.

What are some of your favourite releases this year?

One Day This Will All Be Gone… EVERYTHING NOW! by Autonomads

A World Into Dust by Dead City Riot

Radical. Anarchic. Bolshy. Scouse. by Bolshy

Far From The Callous Crowd by Grand Collapse

Demo/God Bless Demos by Bandits

Dead Lands by Officer Down

I’m sure there are others, but I can’t think of any right now.

What are you excited for in 2015?

Hopefully we’ll be playing lots of gigs in places we’ve not played before; but we’ll definitely be sorting out a European tour with Bandits and releasing our album.
